On March 13th local time, an American Airlines plane caught fire at Denver International Airport in Colorado, USA. At present, all passengers on board have been safely evacuated and there are no reports of casualties.
According to Denver International Airport, an American Airlines plane parked at gate C38 caught fire and was accompanied by visible smoke. Fortunately, the fire has been successfully extinguished, but the specific cause of the fire is still under further investigation.
The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States stated that the Boeing 737-800 aircraft was on a mission from Colorado Springs Airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. During the flight, the crew reported engine vibration, and the flight was diverted around 5:15 pm local time and safely landed at Denver International Airport. When the plane landed and taxied to the boarding gate, the engine caught fire, and the passengers on board successfully evacuated through the slide.
It is reported that the involved flight is AA1006, with 172 passengers and 6 crew members on board. A spokesperson for American Airlines stated that the crew and passengers have been transferred to the airport terminal and expressed gratitude to all rescue personnel for their prompt and decisive actions, emphasizing that ensuring the safety of everyone on board and on the ground is the top priority.
At present, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States has intervened and launched a comprehensive investigation into this incident.
